Quality sound starts with quality gear

Every recording needs a unique voice, and finding the right process and gear to capture the emotion and nuance of a performance is an art in itself. I've built a custom sound booth and tried dozens of pieces of gear in hundreds of combinations to find a setup that enables me to output quality results in the shortest length of time. Below is some of the gear that I will use for your recording and why I chose it.

The Main Mics

Neumann TLM 102

A great condenser mic. This is my goto mic for audiobooks, IVR recording, and most character work. I found that it gives a natural sound and captures inflections extremely well.

TZ STellar X2

Another really good condenser mic. I tend to use this one when I need to pitch my voice in upper registers as it has a good sound in the "air" frequencies.

EV RE320

I love this dynamic mic for when I need to do work that's more radio sounding. You'll find this mic in a lot of radio stations in the UK.

Synco D2 Shotgun

Many voice over actors use shotgun mics as they provide a great rich sound while cutting out background noise. This Synco D2 comes recommended by VO actor and host of the BoothJunkie YouTube channel and is one of my favorites for announcer-style VO jobs.

Audio Interfaces

Rodecaster pro

This is a great all-around mixer, processor, recorder, and interface. It can be used for podcasting, streaming, voice over recording, and general event or music recording. It has great preamps and is a great time saver.

Audient EVO 4

This is my primary interface because of its high quality preamps and simplicity. It's perfect for the booth because I can control everything without wasting time.
